Since the outbreak of COVID-19 earlier this year and the worldwide lockdown that's taken effect to curb its spread, many things have been been left up in the air. This is especially true for Hollywood as productions on countless television series and movies have been postponed. This has led many to question the near future of the Star Wars franchise, especially the production of the second season of The Mandalorian.
Today, Disney's new CEO Bob Chapek spoke with CNBC about this very topic and confirmed season two of the live-action Disney+ series is still in production and will not be delayed. According to Chapek, only films and series that were in the middle of filming when the crisis arose are being affected by the current lockdown. "Mandalorian was shot before [COVID-19] really hit," Chapek explains. "And so we've been in post-production and there will no delay on Mandalorian."
