With Disney+ now running full steam ahead we know the streaming service is going to feature a wide range of Star Wars content. Season two of The Mandalorian is due out this October, and production on the Cassian Andor and Obi-Wan Kenboi series are slated to begin in the near future, but that isn't all!
Today Variety is reporting that a brand new Star Wars series is in development under the leadership of Leslye Headland, who most recently was the co-creator, showrunner and executive producer of the Netflix series Russian Doll, which received thirteen Emmy nominations. This new Star Wars series, which Headland will be the writer and showrunner, will be female-centric and will reportedly explore a part of the Star Wars timeline other projects have not.
We will patiently await an official confirmation from Lucasfilm and Disney regarding this news.
