Recently rumors have be swirling in regards to the upcoming Cassian Andor live-action series that's being produced for Disney+. Last week Variety had a scoop on some new cast members for the series, and now those casting choices have been confirmed, and more, thanks to Lucasfilm.

StarWars.com has reaffirmed that Stellan SkarsgĂ„rd and Kyle Soller will be joining the cast. They have also announced Denise Gough, previously best know for her roles in Robin Hood(2010) and Angels in America(2017), has also signed on to star. And even more exciting, they confirm that Genevieve O’Reilly will be reprising her role as Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma in the series after portraying the character in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as well as several deleted scenes from Revenge Of The Sith.

While we've know this series would be a prequel series to Rogue One (obviously), we didn't have a grasp on exactly where it would fall in the Star Wars timeline. Lucasfilm has now confirmed that this series will take place five years before the events of Rogue One.

StarWars.com also went on to confirm another Variety scoop, officially announcing that Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy will serve as writer, director and showrunner for the Cassian series. They also confirm that Stephen Schiff (The Americans), Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler), Beau Willimon (House of Cards) will also serve as writers.

All of these cast members will of course be joining Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk who will be reprising their roles as Rebel Captain Cassian Andor and reprogrammed Imperial security droid K-2SO. The Cassian Andor series is slated to debut on Disney+, but details on exactly when that will happen, or even when the series will go into production, remain unknown at this time.
