Jon Favreau Shares A Set Photo From Season 2 Of 'The Mandalorian'

By: Benjamin Hart

Right now it seems like everyone is hyped for The Mandalorian! The series debuted yesterday on Disney+ and was welcomed with almost unanimous praise from fans. As we anticipate the release of Chapter 2, coming this Friday, series creator Jon Favreau has reminded us that we have more than one season of episodes to look forward to.

Today Favreau took to his Instagram account, as he often does, to reveal a brand new photo from the set of season two of The Mandalorian. The second season is now in full production as the first season is being released on Disney+. The photo shows the now-iconic helmet of the Mandalorian perched on a rock in a sandy environment. You can see it below:

In addition, the newest episode of The Star Wars Show features an interview with Favreau's partner in crime on The Mandalorian, Dave Filoni. Filoni directed Chapter 1 of the first season and spoke about his experience working on the show, specifically noting his longtime collaboration with Favreau that dates back to season two of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. You can check out the full episode of The Star Wars Show below:

It has been previously confirmed that Jon Favreau, who wrote and executive produced the first season, will be stepping up to direct at least one episode in season two. And considering the photo(as well as the title of the show itself), we can assume Pedro Pascal will be returning as the Mandalorian in this new season as well. A release date for season two has yet to be revealed, but I think it's safe to assume it'll show up around this time next year on Disney+.
