Hayden Christensen & Ian McDiarmid Visit Children At A Utah Hospital

By: Benjamin Hart

In a Galaxy far, far away they play two of the biggest and baddest villains to ever grace the silver screen. But in this universe, Hayden Christensen and Ian McDiarmid are real life heroes.

McDiarmid and Christensen, who are best know for portraying Sheev Palpatine/Darth Sidious and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, attended FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention in Utah this week. On Thursday while in the area the two actors paid a surprise visit to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. The Sith Lord duo took time to visit with patients and their families, signing autographs, taking photos, and help create unforgettable memories.

You can view video from their visit below, and a gallery of photos here, courtesy of KUTV.

And in addition to that, later in the week Hayden and Ian surprised audiences at a screening of The Empire Strikes Back with a live orchestra:

It's really exciting to Hayden back in the spotlight, and reunited with Ian no less. While we await McDiarmid's return as Palpatine in The Rise Of Skywalker (and we're still hopeful Hayden will have a cameo as Anakin), it is incredibly heartwarming to see them bringing joy to these kids. This is what Star Wars is truly all about!
