EW Unveils New Photo Of Cara Dune & The Mandalorian

By: Benjamin Hart

After that amazing trailer for The Mandalorian dropped at D23 Expo we've been treated to a lot of intriguing new reveals from the upcoming Disney+ series. Entertainment Weekly in particular has provided with some new photos from the series, the first showing the title character facing off against a pair of Trandoshans. The second, which was just released by EW, gives us our best look yet at our two leading heroes.

In the photo you can see Cara Dune, played by Gina Carano, in a fighting stance alongside The Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal. While Lucasfilm has been strategically tight lipped about any details regarding the character of The Mandalorian, we do know that Cara Dune is a former Rebel shock trooper who has become a mercenary in the days since the end of the Galactic Civil War. You can see the photo below:

Gina Carano briefly spoke with EW about the interesting relationship her character has with Pascal's The Mandalorian:

“She’s gone from planet to planet. She’s a loner. She’s strong. She runs into the Mandalorian on one of these planets that she’s hiding out on and thinks that he’s there to take her in and then their relationship escalates from there.”

The Mandalorian is set after the events of Return of the Jedi and follows the adventures of a "lone gunfighter", as he navigates the galaxy in the post-Empire/early days of the New Republic. The series debuts on Disney+ on November 12th.  If you haven't seen the new trailer, you can check it out below:

The Mandalorian stars the aforementioned Pedro Pascal and Gina Carrano alongside Carl Weathers as Greef Carga, and Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, as well as Nick Nolte, Werner Herzog, Emily Swallow, and Omid Abtahi in unknown roles. The Mandalorian is executive produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, with episodes directed by Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa, and Taika Waititi.
