'Star Wars Resistance' Mid-Season Trailer Released, Season Two Announced

By: Dominic Jones

"We're the Resistance now, and we're taking back The Colossus."

Lucasfilm has just released a brand new trailer for the second half of the first season of Star Wars Resistance.  The trailer begins by showing an increased presence from the First Order and quickly escalates from there, as we see glimpses of more pirate attacks, undersea action, and what may be the results of a previously unseen Starkiller Base weapons test.  In addition to the series main characters, we also see that Poe Dameron and General Leia Organa will be back on the show, and General Hux will be making his debut (seen in the trailer giving his famous speech from The Force Awakens).  Check out the trailer below,

Star Wars Resistance returns this Sunday, January 13th at 10pm on the Disney Channel.  The mid-season premiere episode is titled "Bibo".

In addition, Lucasfilm also confirmed that a second season of the series will debut in the Fall.  While this announcement was expected, it's always nice to get official confirmation.  Given that the new season one mid-season trailer seems to indicate that the series will be catching up with the events of The Force Awakens (and presumably The Last Jedi), the second season will likely one of our first major looks at the galaxy between Episode VIII and Episode IX.  Just in time for the release of Episode IX in theaters just a few months after the second season debuts.
