Just as he did with the set of The Force Awakens, director and professional fan of stuff, Kevin Smith paid a visit to his pal JJ Abrams on the set of his latest movie, Star Wars Episode IX. Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) appeared on Good Morning America today and told the hosts about what it was like to be on the set of the next Star Wars film and watch Abrams at working directing it. Smith gave similar glowing praise following a visit to the set of Episode VII back in 2014, saying, "This movie though… Dude, I cried four times. (...) [J.J] has f*cking captured it, man. He has nailed it." He would later lend his voice to a stormtrooper in the final movie.
Star Wars Episode IX hit theaters on December 20th, 2019. The film is directed by JJ Abrams, with a script by Abrams and Chris Terio. The film stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, Keri Russell, Richard E. Grant, Naomi Ackie, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie Fisher.
