Rumor: 'Star Wars Resistance' To Premiere On October 7th

By: Dominic Jones

Fans of Star Wars animation might want to circle October 7th on their calendars!  According to a new report from Jason Ward over at MakingStarWars.net reveals that the series Star Wars Resistance is slated premiere on the Disney Channel on October 7th at 10pm.  The series, which was co-created by several veterans of Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is set in lead-up to The Force Awakens and focuses on a Resistance reconnaissance pilot named Kazuda Xiono.  The series will feature appearances by Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie, who are reprising their roles from the films (Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, respectively).

There has been very little promotion to date for Star Wars Resistance.  The series was announced in April and since then there has been almost no official, public promotion for the series.  There have been a few small leaks from internal Disney stuff that has given us some minor insight into the series, but aside from comments from Jim Rash (one of the series' stars) almost nothing has been said publicly since the announcement.

Hopefully, now that we have a more specific timeline about when the series will debut we can expect to see some trailers and other promotions for the series.  It's also worth noting that October 7th is also the final day of New York Comic Con, and if Lucasfilm were looking for an event to do some last minute promotion or event a premiere at that could be a possibility.

As always, this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
