'The Last Jedi' and 'Star Wars Rebels' Win Saturn Awards

By: Dominic Jones

The annual Saturn Awards were held last night, celebrating the best in science fiction over the past year and Star Wars took home four awards.  Star Wars: The Last Jedi won three awards, with Mark Hamill winning for Best Actor, Bob Ducsay winning for Best Editing, and Rian Johnson winning for Best Writing.  Star Wars Rebels won for Best Animated Series.  Johnson, Hamill, Ducsay, and Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni were on hand to accept the awards.  You can see some pictures from the event, as well as reaction from Yoda actor Frank Oz, below

This is the third year in a row where Star Wars has brought home several Saturn Awards.  Last year, Rogue One won three awards and the year before The Force Awakens won eight.  Star Wars Rebels continued its undefeated streak in the Best Animated Series.  The series won the inaugural award in that category last year and defended that win this year.  With Rebels ending earlier this year, the series will be unable to go for the "three-peat" (though Star Wars Resistance, which debuts this fall, could be eligible for the award next year).

Congratulations to Mark, Rian, Bob, and the crews of The Last Jedi and Star Wars Rebels on their big wins!
