New Book Series, "Flight of the Falcon", Announced

Lucasfilm announced today that a new book series about the Millennium Falcon called "Flight of the Falcon."  The series, which is aimed at middle grade readers (ages 8-12), will be set across multiple eras, including before Solo: A Star Wars Story, during the original trilogy, and the sequel era.  It will also tie-in with the Galaxy's Edge theme parks opening at the US Disney Parks next year.  The first book, Lando's Luck, debuts in October and will be written by Justina Ireland with illustrations by Annie Wu.  

The premise of the series, according to StarWars.com, is as follows,

"Bazine Natel, the spy seen on Takodana in The Force Awakens, is on the hunt for the Falcon, and her intel leads her across the galaxy to Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge. In order to find the Falcon, Bazine must learn all she can about the infamous YT-1300 freighter—the ship that countless bounty hunters and Imperials have almost caught over the years."

Other books in the series will include A Luke and Leia Adventure by Cavan Scott with art by Elsa Charretier, Star Wars: Pirate’s Price by Lou Anders and art by Annie Wu, and a Choose-your-own-adventure book.  Every book in the series will also feature a map that will trace the time and place of each story withing the larger galaxy.  
No word on how many books in this series will there be.  The announcement also says that "Flight of the Falcon" will feature a comic books, in addition to the novels and choose-your-own-adventure book.   The series will launch in October to coincide with the annual Star Wars Reads Day.
