It's always fun to see the worlds of sports and Star Wars intersect, as they often do when Lucasfilm wants to debut a new trailer for an upcoming film. This weekend, however, the tables were turned when some Star Wars characters helped the NFL's San Francisco 49ers announce their 4th round draft choice during the 2018 NFL entry draft. The pick was introduced by Solo director Ron Howard in a pre-recorded video message standing next to the famous Yoda fountain outside Lucasfilm HQ in San Francisco. R2-D2 and Chewbacca then joined 49ers mascot Sourdough Sam and a young fan to announced that the 49ers had selected Kentavius Street. You can the video from the broadcast of the draft below,

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25th, 2018 and stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) as Han Solo, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Qi'Ra, Woody Harrelson (True Detective) as Tobias Beckett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) as L3-37, Thandie Newton (Westworld) as Val, and Paul Bettany (The Avengers) as Dryden Vos. The film is directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind), with a script by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back) and his son Jon Kasdan (The First Time).
