Personally, one of my favorite scenes in Star Wars: The Last Jedi is its opening sequence that features the Resistance Bombers and their desperate attempt to destroy a First Order Dreadnought. In addition to great action, humor and drama, the scene includes fantastic visuals, mostly thanks to the incredible artists at Industrial Light and Magic.
The Last Jedi has been nominated for four Academy Awards, including one for Best Visual Effects. Because of this, ILM has released a "behind the magic" visual effects reel showcasing their work done on the battle over D'Qar. The video shows off various VFX breakdowns and previsualizations of several now-iconic shots. You can watch the full reel below:
