By: Dominic Jones

Iron Man and The Lion King director Jon Favreau will be heard in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, director Ron Howard confirmed on Twitter today.  Back on February 2nd, Favreau tweeted a picture of himself alongside Howard and Solo co-writer Lawrence Kasdan.  Today, Howard quote-tweeted Favreau and revealed what they were all doing together, explaining that Favreau would be voicing a very important alien character in the film.  Howard said, "Wondering why we r all together? @Jon_Favreau is voicing a very cool & important alien character for #HanSolo Flattered & fortunate I could pull him away from his #LionKing directing duties".

This is not Favreau's fist time lending his voice to a Star Wars character.  He previously voiced the Mandalorian Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  He appeared in six episodes across three seasons.  You can see a behind the scenes featurette featuring Favreau talking about his The Clone Wars role below,
