With the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi now less than a month away, the promotion for the film is in full swing. In advance of this week's issue which will feature a cover story about the film, Entertainment Weekly has released a new slate of images from The Last Jedi, giving fans an deeper look at some of the film's mysteries. There are ten images, as well as four covers for the next issue of EW, that feature characters and moments from the new film. We've highlighted some of our favourites below,
The first image shows Rey in an environment that looks like it belongs to the First Order. Behind her, out of focus, stands Kylo Ren. It doesn't look like the two are fighting in the scene, which begs the question of what is going on? Is this Rey about to confront Snoke? Have the scavenger and the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa teamed up?
The next shot shows Finn, Rose, and BB-8 in the Casino city of Canto Bight. Interesting that BB-8 has come along for this mission, seeing as we've mostly seen him with Poe Dameron in most of the promotion. Still, Finn and BB-8 had some great scenes together in The Force Awakens, so seeing more of them together is, in my opinion, a great thing.
Lastly, there is this new shot of Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo. She doesn't look very different to how she appears in most of the other promotion, but EW's Anthony Breznican did drop this interesting tidbit about her and Poe in the image's description. According to Breznican, "She steps in to bring new vision to the Resistance but ends up clashing
with Poe Dameron, who has different ideas for how the war should be
waged."
EW also released four exclusive covers for next week's issue featuring various different character pairings on each. Check them out below,
