Forces of Destiny: Newest Recruit

By: Dominic Jones

Lucasfilm and Disney have released a new episode of the animated micro-series Star Wars: Forces of Destiny on YouTube prior to the release of the half hour Forces of Destiny special airing on Disney Channel tonight.  The new episode, titled "Newest Recruit" features a trio of Star Wars Rebels heroines, Sabine Wren, Hera  Syndulla, and Ketsu Onyo in an adventure set on the planet Gorel.  "Newest Recruit" also features the original voice cast returning to play their characters, including Firefly star Gina Torres as Ketsu.  The episode takes place between Ketsu's appearances in Season Two of Rebels.  Check it out below,

This episode takes place between Ketsu's appearance in the Rebels episodes, "Blood Sisters" and "The Forgotten Droid" and explains how the Rebellion finally recruited Ketsu (though the story of how she left the Black Sun remains to be told).

Two Forces of Destiny TV specials will air on Disney Channel this month, one tonight and one on October 29th.  Each special will feature four new episodes and four episodes that were already
released online.  The episode tonight (October 1st) will air at 8:00pm ET.  You can see a trailer for the TV specials below,
