Ron Howard, director of the upcoming untitled Han Solo movie, has been posting lots of fun tidbits and sneak peaks behind the scenes from the set ever since he took over from Phil Lord and Chris Miller as director back in June.  Today he posted a new image of what appears to be a potion of the set that features some sort of alien writing/symbols carved into stone.  Howard revealed that this is a reference to famed Star Wars designer Ralph McQuarrie, who designed many of the most iconic vehicles and characters for the original trilogy.  Howard then asked fans if anyone could translate what was being said.  Check it out below,

What do you think the image means?  Let us know in the comments.

The art of Ralph McQuarrie has been a huge influence on the design of some of the latest Star Wars projects.  In The Force Awakens there are several references to McQuarrie, including an archway can be seen on Jakku that was based on one of his old designs.  In addition to that, the art style of the animated series Star Wars Rebels is inspired by McQuarrie's work.

UPDATE
Artist Paul Bateman, who worked with McQuarrie before he passed away and is an expert on the late designer's work, poster this in response to Howard's tweet,
The untitled young Han Solo film hits theaters on May 25th, 2018 and stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail Caesar!) as Han Solo, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) as Kura, Woody Harrelson (True Detective) as Beckett, Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Thandie Newton (Westworld), and Paul Bettany (The Avengers).  The film is directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind), with a script by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back) and his son Jon Kasdan (The First Time).
