Report: 'The Last Jedi' World Premiere to Be Held December 8th

By: Dominic Jones

Variety is reporting that the world premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be held on December 8th, one week before the film's wide release on December 15th.  The premiere will be held in Los Angeles, California, though no specific location in the city has been confirmed.  For both The Force Awakens and Rogue One premieres, Lucasfilm hosted a live stream of the red carpet and, while nothing has been officially announced, it seems likely that they will do the same this year.

In 2015, the premiere for The Force Awakens was held on December 14th (four days before the film's wide release) at the TCL Chinese Theatre, El Capitan Theatre and Dolby Theatre.  Last year, the Rogue One premiere was held on December 10th (six days before the film's wide release) at the Pantages Theater.

We'll see the Porgs in action when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th.  The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, Benicio Del Toro, and Lupita Nyong'o.
