Del Rey Previews 'From A Certain Point Of View' Short Stories on Twitter

By: Dominic Jones

We're less than three weeks away from the release of the upcoming collection of short stories, Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View, which retells the story of A New Hope from perspective of various secondary and background characters.  The book, which features stories by forty different authors, is being released in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. To promote the upcoming release of the book, several of the authors involved are tweeting images which reveal the character their story focuses on and contains a quote from their story.  Check out the tweets below,

(We will continue to update the above Tweets as more authors share what character they wrote for the book).

Other stories we can expect in From A Certain Point of View, according to the Penguin Random House listing for the book,

• Gary Whitta bridges the gap from Rogue One to A New Hope through the eyes of Captain Antilles.
• Aunt Beru finds her voice in an intimate character study by Meg Cabot.
• Nnedi Okorofor brings dignity and depth to a most unlikely character: the monster in the trash compactor.
• Pablo Hidalgo provides a chilling glimpse inside the mind of Grand Moff Tarkin.
• Pierce Brown chronicles Biggs Darklighter’s final flight during the Rebellion’s harrowing attack on the Death Star.
• Wil Wheaton spins a poignant tale of the rebels left behind on Yavin.

In celebration of the book's release, Lucasfilm is hosting a special, off site panel on October 5th during New York Comic Con where fans can hear from many of the authors who contributed to the book.  The panel does require an extra ticket, which costs $45.  However, this includes a copy of From A Certain Point of View with an exclusive cover.  You can purchase your ticket here.

Star Wars: From A Certain Point of View hits bookshelves on October 3rd.
