John Boyega, the actor who plays Finn in the sequel trilogy, took to Instagram today to share a picture of a special gift The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson gave him. The gift was painting of an exasperated Finn with the word "Bio-Hexacrypt" in the Star Wars font below him. Boyega explained the caption that the gift was a little joke about the challenges that come with Star Wars dialogue. Check it out for yourself below,
It seems like, at some point in The Last Jedi, we'll hear Finn say the word "Bio-Hexacrypt". What that is, is anyone's guess. "Bio" suggests biology, while "Hexa" means six, and a "crypt" is a type of underground room or tomb. So, perhaps we'll see Finn exploring a crypt that holds six people and is made out of biological materials? I don't know.
Regardless, it's funny to see the tradition of Star Wars actors struggling with Star Wars dialogue continuing. Harrison Ford famously once told George Lucas, "George, you can write this sh*t but you can't say it". Boyega's not the first actor to struggle with Star Wars lines, and he won't be the last.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th.
The film is directed by Rian Johnson and stars Mark Hamill, Daisy
Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Carrie Fisher
