Rumor: Tom Hardy Spotted In 'Episode VIII' Behind-The-Scenes Photo

By Ciaran Duggan,

Rumours have circulated that Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road, The Dark Knight Rises) will be making a cameo in 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' after some fans believe they spotted the Hollywood actor in a recently released behind-the-scenes photo from Rian Johnson yesterday.

The photo depicts a group of First Order troopers who Rian Johnson said were 'excited' for a special Episode VIII panel at Star Wars Celebration Orlando this April 14 (as announced yesterday).

All but one of the First Order troopers have their helmets on. The individual trooper who has his helmet half off appears to be a tall white male. Who is this man has been the question on some people's minds.

When one zooms in closer to the image it perhaps seems more obvious who is playing the trooper:

Again this is still speculation and there is no concrete evidence to suggest the trooper in question is in fact Tom Hardy.

It's an interesting theory however.  Espescially given that Hardy is rumored to have a small role in The Last Jedi.  And that more details about this cameo were recently unearthed.

As always, this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
