The game Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance was released by LucasArts on this day in 1999.
Designed by Lawrence Holland, Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance (XWA) is a space combat simulator game which is playable only on PC platform.
The PC game presents the story of Ace Azzameen, the youngest member of the Azzameen family, as players assume Ace's place in all of the missions in the game.
The ultimate aim of the game is to work with with the Rebel Alliance and uncover information about the Empire's second Death Star project.
XWA is the fourth game in the X-Wing computer game series, which is set between the time of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
Fans widely consider the 'X-Wing Alliance' to be a sequel to the popular Star Wars: TIE fighter video game.
The now 18-year-old game is still available for purchase on websites such as Steam and Amazon.
