Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was released on videocassette and laserdisc on this day in 1986. 

This was the first time the original theatrical version of Return of the Jedi was released on VHS and laserdisc. 

The film was first screened in cinemas on May 25, 1983 and then re-released in theatres in 1985.


Since that time Return of the Jedi has been re-released on a variety of different storage discs, such as DVD and Blu-Ray.
