There is no denying, Industrial Light and Magic's work on the visual effects on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was fantastic. In celebration of the ILM crew's Academy Award nomination for their work on Rogue One, the official ILM Facebook page released a video breaking down how some of the incredible action scenes were created (specifically the Death Star attack on Jedha and the battle on Scarif), often incorporating live action footage with CGI environments. It's always incredible to see all the layers of work that go into creating scenes that sometimes only last a few seconds on screen. The amount of effort and artistry that goes into all of ILM's work is truly impressive, most impressive.
