Laura Dern Reflects on the Legacy of Carrie Fisher

By: Dominic Jones

When Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters in December it will feature the final performance by Carrie Fisher in her iconic role as Leia Organa.  It will also introduce Laura Dern to the Star Wars galaxy in a yet to be revealed role.  In light of Fisher's passing, Dern was asked by Entertainment Tonight about Fisher's impact on culture at Elle’s Women in Television event in Los Angeles over the weekend.  Check out her answer below,

So little is known about Episode VIII at this point, including anything about Dern's character.  There has been much speculation and rumors about what her role might be, but nothing concrete.  Hopefully the two women got the chance to share some screentime together when Episode VIII hits theaters later this year.

Star Wars Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15th, 2017 and stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Laura Dern, and Carrie Fisher.  The film is directed by Rian Johnson.
