Kathleen Kennedy Gives Brief Update on 'Episode VIII' and the Han Solo Film

By: Dominic Jones

The focus of the entertainment world for the past week has been Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  And while fans revel in the latest Star Wars film, work is already well underway on the next two films, hitting theaters in 2017 and 2018 respectively.  Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy gave a brief update on the two next films, Episode VIII and the untitled Han Solo A Star Wars Story film, during the UK premiere of Rogue One.  She revealed that filming on the Han Solo film will begin in February, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing Alden Ehrenreich and Donal Glover as Han and Lando respectively, and that fans can expect their first real look at Episode VIII some time in the spring (perhaps around April?)

You can see Kennedy discuss these topics with the BBC's Lizo Mzimba below,
Star Wars Episode VIII is directed by Rian Johnson and hits theaters on December 15th, 2017 and the untitled Han Solo film hits theaters in 2018.
