Felicity Jones & Kathleen Kennedy Denounce 'Rogue One' Reshoot Concerns

With the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story right around the corner, we're going to begin hearing a lot more from the film's star, Felicity Jones. The actress, who plays Jyn Erso in Rogue One, recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about her career so far, her jam packed schedule as of late, her friendship with the late Anton Yelchin, and, of course, Star Wars.

Jones discussed how she prepared for the role of Jyn in Rogue One, and also touched on reshoots for the film that have been the cause of some concern among fans. She explains why reshoots are nothing to be worried about:

"Obviously when you come to the edit, you see the film come together and you think, 'Actually, we could do this better, and this would make more sense if we did this.' I've done it so many times. I mean, you wouldn't just give your first draft on this story, would you?"

Additionally, Jones' comments are backed up Kathleen Kennedy. THR also spoke with the Lucasfilm president who reaffirmed that reshoots are a common part of the filmmaking process:

"I'm sure if you picked up the phone and called every single large, technical movie and said, 'You ever gone in and done reshoots?' they'd all say, 'Oh God, yes,' So why has it turned into a big story? Because it's Star Wars, and they put a spotlight and scrutinize every single thing that gets done. But it was always planned and nothing unusual."

Kennedy also goes on to briefly discuss the casting process for Jyn Erso and reveals that Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn had a major role in getting Felicity Jones for the part. You can read the full article on THR by clicking here!
