Last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens is about to be brought to life in an amazing new way! Our friends at Club Jade are reporting that the Legoland theme park in Carlsbad, California is being updated with a truly epic The Force Awakens-themed addition. In the Miniland section of the park, a massive new Lego diorama, which will depict iconic moments from the film, will be added next year. The diorama will replace a current Christophsis display based on scenes from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars feature film. The Force Awakens diorama will be set on Jakku and portray several scenes from the film, including:
- Kylo Ren’s capture of Poe on Jakku
- Rey’s rescue of BB-8
- Poe and Finn’s escape from the Finalizer
- The wreck of Finn and Poe’s TIE Fighter
- Rey, Finn and BB-8’s escape from Niima Outpost
- The escape from the Starship Graveyard
Topping off the display, quite literally, will be a 16-foot long Lego model of the First Order Star Destroyer Finalizer, which will be longest miniland model built thus far. The diorama will be on full display beginning during Legoland's annual LEGO Star Wars Days, March 4th & 5th, 2017.
The news was announced during a press conference by Legoland California Resort’s general manager Peter Ronchetti. You can watch the announcement and see some early concept renderings of the diorama in the video below(starting at 0:19):
