Earlier tonight the British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their annual awards ceremony in London and honored many talented men and women for their work in the past year. Among them was Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega who was presented with the EE Rising Star award, which was the only BAFTA to be decided by public voting. Upon accepting the award, Boyega jokingly said that it was a "fluke" and later added:
"I’m going to share this award with all the young dreamers who are determined, who are hard-working, and who are- quite frankly- amazing, this is also for you."

Also, in an interview during the event, Boyega confirmed that he will begin filming on Star Wars: Episode VIII on Monday. He told People:
"I've got a 6 a.m. pickup tomorrow!"
John is such a class act with incredible talent. Congratulations to him for this much deserved award!
