It seems some new characters from the Galaxy far, far away may have just been revealed from an unlikely source. Stitch Kingdom has uncovered a trademark registration for two names that are new to Star Wars canon but are very similar to some previous content.
The first is "Valara". Stitch Kingdom points out that this name matches the name of an existing Legends character named Valara Saar. Saar was created for, and appeared in several roleplaying games. Whether this means Valara Saar is being brought into canon or the name is simply going to be applied to a new character is unknown.
Additionally, it was discovered that the name "Mon Destra" has been trademarked. The only similar existing name Stitch Kingdom could find was a fan fiction character named Darth Destra. It seems like a stretch to think these two names could be connected, but as they point out, the name Captain Phasma, who we all know now as the Chrome Trooper in The Force Awakens played by Gwendoline Christie, was first revealed in a leak similar to this and the name first appeared in a fan fiction story.
So, like Phasma, could we see Valara or Mon Destra show up as a major character in future Star Wars film, such as Rogue One or Episode VIII? Or could they even be planets, or ship names? Time will tell.
