Star Wars is expected to have a major presence at next month's D23 Expo. There have been announcements regarding the Crash Course in the Force: Star Wars Saga 101 panel hosted by Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo, as well as the arth Vader: The Evolution Of A Villain exhibit taking place during the Disney convention, but can we expect to find out who some of the cast of the new film is. Sources are telling The Hollywood Reporter that this is the case. THR reports that,
"Insiders say some Star Wars actors may be making appearances during the D23 Expo, confirming their participation in the J.J. Abrams-directed sequel trilogy — which is expected to hit theaters in 2015. (Filming is expected to begin in early 2014 in the U.K.)"
This would make sense for Disney to hype up their own convention with some big announcements. Any major Star Wars panel seems to be conspicuous by its absence at this year's San Diego Comic Con, which follows suit with what Disney did when promoting The Avengers. Recall Disney chose to have no Avengers movie presence at SDCC in 2011, opting instead to hold a major Avengers panel during D23. Seeing as The Avengers is the only other movie comparable to Episode VII in terms of anticipation it would make sense for Disney to follow the same model.
