By: Dominic Jones

Deadline recently counted down the top ten most profitable movies released on 2017 and Star Wars: The Last Jedi topped the list as the most profitable film of the year.  This is different from highest grossing film, because Deadline's series counts down the films that made the most money after the costs of production and marketing are subtracted from the film's box office and home media gross.  According to their calculations, Disney took in $417.5 million in profit thanks to The Last Jedi.

With Star Wars: The Last Jedi now available on blu-ray as well as digital download, I wanted to share my thoughts on the bonus features that were included.  Just by looking at what's included on the blu-ray and digital downloads it is clear that there is far more bonus material than there was with the last two films.  And it's not a case of quantity over quality.  What is included gives fans a far more intimate look at the making of the film than we had come to expect from the recent blu-ray releases.

Solo: A Star Wars Story star Thandie Newton spoke with Entertainment Tonight this week and she spoke briefly about her role as Val in the film.  Very little is known about Val, she was seen only briefly in the teaser trailer that was released last month, however Newton says that moment in the trailer tells you everything you need to know about the character.  Newton said, "I think that the clip that you see [in the trailer], even though it’s really brief, tells you a lot. You know, there she is holding what looks like a weapon, and in a state of natural empowerment. You know, both the way she looks and her attitude. I loved playing the character. Loved it."

Unidentified 'Solo' Actor Talks About the Infamous Directors Change

By: Dominic Jones

As much as Lucasfilm and Disney may want it to go away, the story that keeps following Solo: A Star Wars Story around is the infamous directors change that took place last June when Phil Lord and Chris Miller--who had been shooting since January 2017--left the project with just weeks left to go in shooting.  They were replaced shortly thereafter by Ron Howard.  While those involved haven't shied away from talking about it, the amount of speculation and debate about what happened sometimes appears to overshadow the movie itself, which opens in theaters in just under two months.  Fans are curious about who shot what, what changes were made, how the credits will look, and what was it like on set with Lord and Miller compared to Howard.

One of the most pleasant surprises in Star Wars: The Last Jedi was the return of Master Yoda to offer Luke Skywalker some advice when he needed it most.  The moment was emotional, both for audiences and the performers involved--Mark Hamill can be seen getting very emotional during the rehearsals in the documentary The Director and the Jedi.  Yoda's return was kept a secret (mostly) during the production and promotion of the film and now Frank Oz, who both voices Yoda and performs the puppet spoke about keeping the return a secret in a new interview with IGN.
