New 'Star Wars Rebels: Wolves and a Door' Preview Clip

Lucasfilm has released a new preview clip from the next episode of the animated series Star Wars Rebels, titled "Wolves and a Door".  The clip shows Ezra, Hera, Sabine, and Zeb preparing to ride the Lothwolves to the Jedi temple on Lothal. This will continue the storyline that began in the last episode when Ezra learned that he must return to the temple, despite having led the Empire there back in season two.  Check out the clip below,

Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, and Kelly Marie Tran To Present At The Oscars

Even if The Last Jedi doesn't win in any of the categories for which it is nominated at the 90th annual Academy Awards next month, Star Wars will still be represented on stage.  The Academy announced the presenters for this year's Oscars and The Last Jedi stars Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, and Kelly Marie Tran are among those who will be announcing the winners.  Also announced as presenter was Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also co-wrote the song "Jabba Flow" with JJ Abrams for The Force Awakens.

Video: "The Force of Sound: Creating Sounds in Galaxy Far, Far Away"

'Star Wars: Last Shot' Preview Synopsis Released

Last Friday, Lucasfilm unveiled the tie-in books that will be released to coincide with the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters.  Among the books announced was the novel Star Wars: Last Shot by Daniel Jose Older, which will star Han and Lando and will be set across multiple time periods, including before Solo and after Return of the Jedi.  Following the announcement, the Penguin Random House listing for the book was updated with a full preview synopsis, giving us more insight into the story of the book.  Check it out below,

'The Last Jedi' Coming to Digital March 13th, Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra March 27th

Lucasfilm officially announced the home media release dates for Star Wars: The Last Jedi this morning.  The film will be available digitally on March 13th, with the blu-ray and 4K Ultra release coming two weeks later on March 27th.  Also announced were the bonus features that will be included.  Among them are, the feature length documentary The Director and the Jedi, fourteen deleted scenes, and a directors commentary from Rian Johnson.  You can see the full list of special features below (via StarWars.com),

Jon Favreau Appears To Reveal Who He's Playing In 'Solo'

Earlier this week, Solo: A Star Wars Story director Ron Howard revealed that fellow director Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Elf) would be voicing a character in the upcoming Star Wars film.  Howard described the character as a "very cool & important alien character".  Today, Favreau took to Twitter to seemingly confirmed what character he's playing.  He posted a screenshot from the teaser trailer of the four-armed alien, seen briefly at the controls of a ship.

Lucasfilm publishing announced the full slate of tie-in books and comics for Solo: A Star Wars Story today in a feature by Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican.  Among the announcements are the adult novel titled Star Wars: Last Shot  by Daniel Jose Older (Shadowshaper, Half-Resurection Blues) about Han Solo and Lando Calrissian, the YA novel Star Wars: Most Wanted by Rae Carson (The Girl of Fire and Thorns) about Han and Qi'ra, and the comic book series Lando: Double or Nothing by Rodney Barnes.  In addition, The Art of Solo by Phil Szostak and Solo: The Official Guide by Pablo Hidalgo were also announced.

Jon Favreau Voices A "Very Cool & Important Alien Character" In 'Solo'

Iron Man and The Lion King director Jon Favreau will be heard in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, director Ron Howard confirmed on Twitter today.  Back on February 2nd, Favreau tweeted a picture of himself alongside Howard and Solo co-writer Lawrence Kasdan.  Today, Howard quote-tweeted Favreau and revealed what they were all doing together, explaining that Favreau would be voicing a very important alien character in the film.  Howard said, "Wondering why we r all together? @Jon_Favreau is voicing a very cool & important alien character for #HanSolo Flattered & fortunate I could pull him away from his #LionKing directing duties".

New 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Poster Revealed

A new poster for Solo: A Star Wars Story was officially revealed today during this week's episode of The Star Wars Show.  The poster is done in the same style as the character posters which were revealed last week, however instead of just featuring one character this one gives us a look at the main cast.  Featured on the poster are Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra, Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett, the droid L3-37 (played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge through motion-capture), and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.  Check out below,

One of the biggest surprises of the marketing for Solo: A Star Wars Story has been the redesigned Millennium Falcon.  When we first see the Falcon in A New Hope, it has clearly seen better days (in the words of Luke Skywalker, "What a piece of junk!")  What we didn't release until now is just how much nicer it used to be.  The trailers, and subsequent still images, released have given us a look at what the Falcon looked like when it was owned by Lando Calrissian.

Report: 'The Last Jedi' To Be Released Digitally March 14th

We may be just over a month away from being able to own The Last Jedi digitally!  Star Wars News Net is reporting that the film will be released as a digital download on March 14th.  The report comes from a discovery on the New Zealand iTunes page for the film, which lists its estimated release date as March 14th. This digital release would come just under two weeks before the rumored release date (March 27th) from the film on blu-ray and 4K Ultra.

Rumor: 'Blade Runner 2049' Art Director Paul Inglis Working On 'Episode IX'

While filming on the JJ Abrams directed Star Wars Episode IX is still several months away, work on the project is well underway at Lucasfilm and Bad Robot headquarters.  Omega Underground is reporting that Paul Inglis has been hired as "the lead supervising art director on the film".  Inglis' previous credits include Blade Runner 2049 and the HBO series Game of Thrones.  He also worked on Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which Abrams produced.

Lawrence and Jon Kasdan Talk About How They Got Involved With 'Solo'

The writing duo behind Solo: A Star Wars Story have a lengthy history with the Star Wars franchise.  Lawrence Kasdan, co-writer of Solo, has been involved in the writing of three Star Wars movies prior to Solo.  He was first recruited by George Lucas in 1979 to re-write his script for The Empire Strikes Back and then partnered again with Lucas on the script for Return of the Jedi.  Thirty years later, he was approached by Lucasfilm to write a Han Solo movie, but before that could get off the ground he was asked to work with JJ Abrams on the script for The Force Awakens

New Details About 'Galaxy's Edge' Shared at D23 Expo Japan

We're still over a year away from the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the Star Wars-themed lands coming to Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida, however Disney has shared some new details about the lands at D23 Expo Japan, which took place this weekend.  Bob Chapek, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman, took the stage yesterday to offer new details about the two rides that will be featured at the parks.  We'd heard previously that the land would feature a Millennium Falcon ride and a Resistance vs. First Order ride, and while nothing new was revealed about the former, a new tidbit was shared about the latter.  According to StarWars.com,

Solo: A Star Wars Story director, Ron Howard's history with Star Wars creator George Lucas predates the original Star Wars film in 1977.  Howard starred in Lucas' 1973 film American Graffiti, so when Howard to on the gig directing a Star Wars film he was sure to reach out to his old boss.  Howard and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, another old friend of Lucas', spoke about Lucas' influence on the new film with Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican, as part of the magazine's cover story about Solo.

Back in June of 2017, fans thought that in May 2018 they would be seeing a Han Solo movie directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie).  Fast forward to now and the Han Solo movie (now titled Solo) is still coming out in May 2018 only now with Ron Howard as director.  In late June, Lucasfilm made the shocking decision to let go of Lord and Miller, fairly late into production, and bring in Howard to redo most of the movie.  Howard and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy spoke candidly about the change in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly's Anthony Breznican for the magazine's cover story about Solo.

Diamond Publishers announced the winners of their annual Gem Awards for the best comics of 2017, and Star Wars: The Screaming Citadel #1 picked up the award for Best Licensed Comic Book of the Year!  The book was written by Kieron Gillen with art by Marco Checchetto.

We're still about a month away from the Oscars, where Star Wars: The Last Jedi is nominated for four awards, however that hasn't stopped the latest Star Wars movie from picking up an award.  The AARP held their 17th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards last night and The Last Jedi won the award for "Best Movie For Grownups."  The film beat other nominees Get Out, Lady Bird, The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Names For Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Characters Revealed

This morning's teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story featured looks at several new characters, including the ones played by Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.  Newton's character, whose name is Val, is seen briefly in the trailer wearing a winter coat and carrying a large blaster.  You would be forgiven if you didn't notice Waller-Bridge in the trailer because she is playing the droid L3-37 in a motion capture performance, as rumored, (similar to what Alan Tudyk did in Rogue One).

Official 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Character Posters Revealed

If a Super Bowl teaser and a full trailer, weren't enough for you, Lucasfilm has released four new character posters for Solo: A Star Wars Story.  The posters feature Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, and Emilia Clarke's character--whose name is confirmed to be Qi'Ra.  Check them out below,

If last night's teaser during the Super Bowl wasn't enough for you, Good Morning America just debuted the full trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, hitting theaters on May 25th, 2018.  The trailer gives us a more extensive look at Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, as well as more insight into what the story will be.  Plus, additional looks at Donald Glover as Lando, as well as the characters played by Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson.  Plus, our first look at Thandie Newton's character. Two New Still Images From 'Solo' Revealed

Shortly after the first footage from the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story aired during tonight's Super Bowl LII, two new still images from the film were also released online.  The first image shows Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo looking away from the camera, out at a snowy landscape.  The second image shows Emilia Clarke's character standing outside the Millennium Falcon with a droid standing behind her.  Check out the images below,
