Rian Johnson Reveals the First Word in 'The Last Jedi' is "We're"

By: Dominic Jones

Tonight the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and, even though there wasn't the reveal of a new clip from the movie as some of us were hoping for, writer/director Rian Johnson made sure to make one small reveal.  Following in the footsteps of his predecessor JJ Abrams, who did the same thing on Kimmel two years ago, Johnson revealed what the first spoken word in The Last Jedi is.  That word? "We're."  Have fun speculating on what the second word is for the next two weeks.

Also in tonight's episode, Johnson took part in a sketch with Kimmel and his sidekick Guillermo, in which Johnson endured Kimmel and Guillermo pitching him ideas for characters in his new trilogy.  Check it out below,

Hopefully more clips from the episode will be released online soon.  The cast interviews were a lot of fun, even though they didn't reveal anything about the plot of the movie.  Plus, our buddy Steele Saunders of the Steele Wars Podcast was featured briefly when Supreme Leader Snoke was brought up!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15th.  The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and stars Daisy Ridley as Rey, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, John Boyega as Finn, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Laura Dern as Amilyn Holdo, Benicio Del Toro as DJ, and Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata.
