New 'The Last Jedi' Teaser Revealed At Disney's Holiday Celebration

Empire Magazine Reveals New Image of DJ From 'The Last Jedi'

Empire Magazine has released a new image of one of the new characters we'll be meeting in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the mysterious DJ, played by Benicio Del Toro.  The new image is from the January issue of Empire, which hits shelves today.  They also interviewed Del Toro about his character, and the actor described DJ as, "He’s like a knife: if you grab him by the blade, he’ll cut you. New 'The Last Jedi' TV Spot Released

"Powerful light, powerful dark."

Another TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been released.  The new spot features a couple of new shots, including one of Rey on Ach-To and one of several First Order TIE Fighters flying from a First Order Dreadnought into battle.  It also features a new line of dialogue from Luke Skywalker, presumably, talking to Rey about the Force.  Check it out below,

Mark Hamill Discusses His Return to 'Star Wars' on 'Good Morning America'

Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill appeared on Good Morning America today to promote his upcoming return to his most famous role (if you don't count the last scene of The Force Awakens) in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  Hamill spoke about what it was like coming back to Star Wars, his memories of the late Carrie Fisher, and what it was like for his kids growing up with Luke Skywalker as their dad.  He was also surprised with a video from his other "son" Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films).  Check it out below,

'The Star Wars Show' Interviews 'The Last Jedi' Star Kelly Marie Tran

Lucasfilm's official Star Wars YouTube variety show, The Star Wars Show hosted their first cast member of The Last Jedi on the show this week.  Kelly Marie Tran, who plays Rose Tico in the film, stopped by the StarWars.com offices at Lucasfilm headquarters in San Fransisco where she was interviewed by host Andi Gutierrez.  Tran spoke about her experience shooting the film, as well as her Pokemon Go prank on The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson.  She also revealed that she will be narrating the audio book of the Rose-centric mid-range novel Star Wars: Cobalt Squadron by Elizabeth Wein, which hits shelves on December 15th (same day as the film is in theaters).  Check out the interview below,

'The Last Jedi' Cast Interviewed By Rolling Stone Magazine

The Star Wars cast talk show appearances to promote The Last Jedi kicked off yesterday and among the several stops Rey actress Daisy Ridley made was The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.  During the appearance, Ridley spoke about what it was like being back for The Last Jedi, collaborating with Barbra Streisand, and how she dusted off her old bar tending skills for the Star Wars wrap party. Rian Johnson To Take Part In Live Twitter Q&A Tomorrow

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson will be answering fans questions tomorrow on Twitter in a live Q&A that Lucasfilm is doing to promote his upcoming film.  The official Star Wars Twitter account made the announcement this morning and asked fans to start sending in questions for Johnson using the hashtag #RianJohnson.  The Q&A will take place starting at 10:00am PST (1:00pm ET).  Presumably most of the questions will be about The Last Jedi, but maybe he'll answer a question or two about his new stand alone trilogy that was announced earlier this month, as well.

Lucasfilm Announces 'Star Wars' Nights With Several NHL and NBA Teams

Topps Reveals New Images From 'The Last Jedi'

Rian Johnson Speaks Briefly About His New 'Star Wars' Trilogy

Two weeks ago, Lucasfilm shocked fans with the exciting announcement that The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson would be creating a new trilogy of Star Wars films set outside the main Skywalker saga.  Very little is known about the new trilogy and Johnson isn't likely to give much away about it during the promotional tour for The Last Jedi, but that won't stop people from asking him about it.  Which is exactly what someone did during the recent Mexico City The Last Jedi press event.  You can see Johnson's answer below,

Chewie Pushes a Porg Aside in New 'The Last Jedi' TV Spot

To celebrate American Thanksgiving Lucasfilm has released a new TV spot for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, featuring several new shots from the film.  There are two main new shots featured in the TV spot, which is mostly made up of footage we've seen before.  The first is of Captain Phasma walking up behind a line of stormtroopers with their blasters drawn.  The other is of a Porg in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, squawking away, and an annoyed Chewbacca pushes it aside.  Check it out below,

A big part of promoting any movie is the talk show appearances by the cast, and Star Wars is no different.  Starting next week and leading up until the release of the film on December 15th it will be hard to miss seeing the cast of Star Wars: The Last Jedi showing up on various talk shows.  So expect lots of fun behind the scenes stories, vague hints about the plot, and fond memories of the late Carrie Fisher to dominate the discussions.  Hopefully we'll get a clip or two thrown in there too!

Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk Reprise Their 'Rogue One' Roles For 'Secrets of the Empire'

The new hyper-reality experience, Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, opening in Orlando, Florida and London, England next month and Anaheim, California in January will feature a Rogue One reunion of sorts.  During an interview with ILMxLAB producer Judah Graham and VFX supervisor Ben Snow on The Star Wars Show this week it was revealed that Deigo Luna and Alan Tudyk, who played Cassian Andor and K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story respectively, had reprised their roles for the experience.

Cover For Tim Zahn's 'Thrawn: Alliances' Revealed

Lucasfilm and Del Rey Publishing have revealed the cover for Timothy Zahn's upcoming novel Star Wars: Thrawn--Alliances.  The novel is a follow-up to Star Wars: Thrawn which was released earlier this year.  The new novel will see Grand Admiral Thrawn teaming up with the dark lord of the sith Darth Vader, and the cover reflects this pairing.  Vader and Thrawn are featured standing together on the cover of the novel, which will be released in hardcover next year.  Check it out below,

John Boyega Shares His Opinion on Porgs

Ever since they first appeared in the behind the scenes reel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the D23 Expo, Porgs have captured the hearts and minds of Star Wars fans.  The bird-like creatures were inspired by the real world puffins that live on Skellig Michael, where the final scene of The Force Awakens was shot.  In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Finn actor John Boyega shared his thoughts on Porgs and what it was like seeing them on set.  The interview was a released as part of EW's online coverage of The Last Jedi, which coincides with a cover story about the film in this week's issue.

'The Last Jedi' Expected to Make $200 Million-Plus on Opening Weekend

It should come as no surprise that a Star Wars movie will make lots of money at the box office, but the question that Disney executives and investors are wondering is how much money will The Last Jedi make?  They should be happy with the latest projections from The Hollywood Reporter, who are reporting that the Rian Johnson directed film is tracking for a $200 million-plus domestic opening weekend.  This would put The Last Jedi on short list of films that have opened to $200 million at the domestic box office in their opening weekend, which is currently made up of The Force Awakens, The Avengers, and Jurassic World.

Alexandre Desplat Explains Why He Dropped Out Of Scoring 'Rogue One'

This time last year, composer Michael Giacchino was doing interviews talking about how he had had such a short window to write the score for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  While there were many factors that led to this condensed schedule for Giacchino, one of them was the fact that he joined the project fairly late into production because the film's original composer, Alexandre Desplat, had dropped out.  Desplat's reasoning was unclear at the time, but the composer recently set the record straight in an interview with Film School Rejects.

Ever since the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was announced and Billy Dee Williams was nowhere to be found, Star Wars fans have been wondering if we'll be seeing Lando Calrissian appear in the sequel trilogy.  When Lando didn't appear in The Force Awakens, fans speculated that he might make an appearance in The Last Jedi seeing as Lando didn't appear until the second installment in the original trilogy.  Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Back in June, Star Wars fans (and the entertainment industry as a whole) was shocked to learn that Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) would no longer be directing the, then untitled, Han Solo movie.  Directors changes are not uncommon in Hollywood (see: Episode IX), but what made this one unique is that Lord and Miller had been shooting the film since January.  Since then, with Ron Howard having taken over Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lord and Miller have remained silent apart from a statement in the original press release.

New 'The Last Jedi' TV Spot Focuses On Luke and Rey

"Resist it Rey!"

Lucasfilm has released yet another TV spot for the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  This latest spot focuses on the characters of Luke Skywalker and Rey, giving us an extended line from the original teaser trailer released back in April at Star Wars Celebration.  There are several new shots in the trailer, including ones of Luke, Rey, and Poe Dameron, mixed in with plenty of footage from past trailer and TV spots. Video: J.J. Abrams Auctions Off 'Star Wars' Plot

"No, they have no idea.  They're very upset."

JJ Abrams, director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars Episode IX, made an appearance tonight during HBO's Night Of Too Many Stars benefit supporting NEXT for AUTISM Abrams appeared on stage with host Jon Stewart and announced that he would auction off spoilers for Episode IX to an audience member to benefit NEXT for AUTISM.  Abrams would later be joined by comedians Rob Corddry and Gilbert Gottfried, who offered to sweeten the pot with spoilers for Hot Tub Time Machine 3 and Sharknado 5.  Check out the hilarious video below (warning: it contains adult language and subject matter, viewer discretion is advised),
