Forces of Destiny: The Happabore Hazard

'The Last Jedi' International Trailer Released

Lucasfilm has released the official International trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi online today.  The trailer is mostly made up of footage from the North American trailer released earlier this month, as well as from the teaser trailer released back in April.  There definitely isn't as much new footage in the Japenese trailer for The Last Jedi compared to how much new stuff there was in the International trailer for The Force Awakens.  Regardless, it's still worth a watch.  Check it out below,

After 37 years, we're finally seeing Luke Skywalker with a blue lightsaber again.  There have been many questions heading into Star Wars: The Last Jedi about what to expect from Luke Skywalker, if we'll see him in action, and what weapon he might use should he take action again.  A new Japanese poster for The Last Jedi, appears to answer some of those questions.  The poster, which was released online today shows Luke Skywalker holding his old blue lightsaber.   Check it out below,

Report: The Story Behind The Fall of Visceral's 'Star Wars' Game And What It Would Have Been

A little over a week and a half ago, Electronic Arts announced that they would be shutting down Visceral Studios and that work on the Star Wars game that Visceral had been working on since 2013 would be moved to EA's Vancouver studio.  Since the announcement there has been much speculation about what caused the downfall of the game and what the game would have been had it ever been released.  Tonight, two phenomenal reports were released by Jason Schreier over at Kotaku and Jason Ward over at MakingStarWars.net that answer these two questions.

JJ Abrams Talks Briefly About His Approach For 'Episode IX'

Last month it was announced that JJ Abrams would be returning to write and direct the final installment in the sequel trilogy.  Abrams has been mostly quiet about his return to Star Wars, but he did speak briefly about it during an appearance on the BBC Radio 4 program Today alongside composer Michael Giacchino (who wrote the music for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).  Obviously, Abrams didn't say much about Episode IX since he's still in the early stages of writing it with Chris Terrio, but he did talk briefly about how he approaches Star Wars movies.

The Disney Parks Blog announced the launch date for a new adventure coming to Star Tours II: The Adventure Continues that will tie in with The Last Jedi.  The new addition to the attraction will be set on the planet Crait, seen briefly in the trailers for The Last Jedi.  The Crait Star Tours adventure will launch at Disneyland in California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida on November 17, at Disneyland Paris November 22, and, as previously announced, at Tokyo Disneyland December 15.

New Image of Vice Admiral Holdo Revealed on 'Ellen'

One of the new characters we will be meeting when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters this December is Resistance Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, played by Emmy winning actress Laura Dern.  Dern appeared on The Ellen Show this week and she spoke briefly about her role in the new film, telling the story of how she made "pew pew" noises on set while shooting her blaster.  In addition, a new still image of Dern as Holdo was revealed on the show.  You can watch the clip below,

Benicio Del Toro's DJ to Star In Upcoming Comic Book One Shot

Lucasfilm and Marvel announced today a new upcoming one-shot comic book issue that will explore the backstory of the character played by Benicio Del Toro, known as DJ, in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The book will be written by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker, who are also writing the Storms of Crait one-shot for Marvel which will also tie-in with the upcoming film.  Star Wars: The Last Jedi – DJ #1 will feature art Kev Walker and is slated to hit shelves in January.

EA Shuts Down Visceral, Production of 'Star Wars' Game to Continue With New Studio

Electronic Arts announced today that they are shutting down Visceral Studios as a result of the "evolving" video game industry and that production of the Star Wars game the studio had been working on will be taken over by a team at EA Studios in Vancouver.  This move means that the game will "pivot in design" as the new team takes over.  EA Executive Vice President Patrick Söderlund said in a statement,

Ron Howard Announces the End of Production and the Title of the Han Solo Movie

Director Ron Howard took to twitter today to announce that filming had wrapped on the upcoming Han Solo stand alone film, and that the film is officially titled Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Howard made the announcement in a short video released on his Twitter account where he thanks the cast and crew for their hard work and is handed (by a familiar Wookiee) a sign with the film's official title on it.  Check out the video below,

Andy Serkis "Absolutely" Knows Snoke's Backstory

One of the characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens that has had fans talking most since the film's release in 2015 is Supreme Leader Snoke of the First Order, with theories about his backstory becoming a running joke in Star Wars fandom.  Based on the recent trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi we can expect to see more of Snoke in the upcoming film than we did in The Force Awakens (although not that much).  Following the release of the trailer, IGN spoke with Andy Serkis, who portrays Snoke in the films, about the character and if he knew the character's mysterious backstory.

Bo-Katan Returns in New 'Star Wars Rebels' Clip

Watch The Lucasfilm Publishing Panels From New York Comic Con

Last weekend during New York Comic Con, Lucasfilm publishing hosted two major panels about the recent and upcoming releases of Star Wars books and now Penguin Random House has uploaded high quality versions of the panels to YouTube so that everyone can watch them.  The first panel, held on Friday, featured twelve authors who have written Star Wars books talking about their history with Star Wars and making announcements about what's to come.  The second panel, held on Saturday, features 19 of the 43 authors who contributed to the From A Certain Point Of View collection of short stories.  You can check out both panels below,

'The Last Jedi' Official Theatrical Poster Revealed

In advance of tonight's trailer reveal during Monday Night Football on ESPN, Lucasfilm and Disney have released the official theatrical poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.  The reveal was made by director Rian Johnson .  The poster features General Leia Organa, played in the film by the late Carrie Fisher who passed away last December, front and center, as well as other fan favourites like Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and looming above them all, Luke Skywalker.  Check it out below,

'The Last Jedi' Trailer and Tickets Coming Tomorrow

Lucasfilm announced what we had all been assuming for the past few weeks today, a new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released tomorrow during Monday Night Football on ESPN.  Then, following the trailer, advance ticket sales for the movie will begin.  To promote tomorrow's events, Lucasfilm released two teasers for the trailer featuring new footage, one on the official Star Wars social media accounts and one on Good Morning America.  You can check them both out below,
