The release of Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi is still many months away but with Star Wars Celebration taking place next month anticipation is really starting to heat up at the prospect of the first trailer. But to tide us over until then, our friends over at MakingStarWars.net have a new interesting tidbit about one of the sets from the upcoming film. The set is actually one we saw in some leaked picture last year, but now MSW has provided us with some new tidbits about what will happen there. This is not a huge spoiler, and as usual, there is a chance this may not be true, but if you are trying to avoid all The Last Jedi spoilers then stop reading now. This is your SPOILER ALERT!
The set in question is the tree seen on that recreated where the Millennium Falcon was parked on Ach-To. The set was discovered last summer by some urban explorers who were exploring the space near the backlot at Longcross Studios. In case you've forgotten, check out some of the pictures below,
It sounds like things are going to turn out so well for that tree. According to MSW,
"The tree is entirely engulfed in flames. The fire really looks cool because the pronged shaped of the tree allows for the flames to flow in a pretty cool way. If there’s a metal band in the Star Wars galaxy, they’re totally putting it on their shirts."
It's not clear if the pictures we've seen are before or after the fire. It's not clear if the prop tree in the pictures is meant to look burnt or just old. There has been some speculation that tree might be related to the "Force tree" seen in the final issue of Marvel's Star Wars: Shattered Empire comic book mini series. If there is some Force-related meaning to the tree, the fact that it's on fire could be a bad omen for our heroes.
As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
