Hayden Christensen & Mark Hamill To Headline 40th Anniversary Panel At Celebration Orlando

With just over ten days left until the launch of Star Wars Celebration Orlando, we've been getting a ton of guest announcements recently. In fact, one guest in particular that was just revealed is quite a shocking one!

The official Star Wars Celebration Facebook page has confirmed that none other than Anakin Skywalker himself, Hayden Christensen, will be in attendance and signing autographs at this Celebration. This announcement is a pleasant surprise for fans considering Hayden has not appeared at a Celebration since Star Wars Celebration II in 2002 to promote Episode II: Attack Of The Clones.

Full Star Wars Celebration Orlando Schedule Released

Earlier today the official Star Wars Celebration site was finally updated with the full schedule of events for Star Wars Celebration Orlando! Because of this, we now know when and where to attend each and every panel and event happening over the four days of the convention.

While many fans will be delighted to know where they can begin lining up for the big panels for The Last Jedi and Star Wars' 40th anniversary, a closer look reveals an assortment of intriguing events covering a range of topics including books, comics, music, trivia, behind the scenes, gaming, collecting, theme parks, Podcasting, fandom and so much more. There will even be special screenings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Original Trilogy films, as well as select episodes of Star Wars Rebels.

New Look at Rey's 'The Last Jedi' Costume Revealed by Disney Parks Merchandise

We now have a full look at Rey's costume in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi thanks to a t-shirt that will soon be available for purchase at the Disney Parks.  Disney revealed three shirts and a new pin that they will be selling with a portion of the proceeds going to Lucasfilm's "Force for Change" charitable initiative.  The shirts will debut at Star Wars Celebration next month in Orlando at the Disney Parks booth (#3463) and will be available at the American Disney Parks.  Check them out below and see Rey's full The Last Jedi costume,

The tribute is scheduled to take place on Friday April 14.

Rumor: Justin Theroux Has a Role in 'The Last Jedi'

Another HBO star is joining the Star Wars galaxy.  Only this time, it's not in the young Han Solo film, it's Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi.  Our friends over at MakingStarWars.net are reporting that Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) has a small part in The Last Jedi.  His look is described as being like James Bond with a Star Wars twist and he is reportedly playing "an expert slicer" (the Star Wars equivalent of a hacker). He shot his scenes at Pinewood Studios in London last year, reportedly on sets that are tied to the exterior scenes shot in Dubrovnik last year.

Footage of Rey From 'The Last Jedi' Shown at CinemaCon

While the rest of the world waits for Star Wars Celebration in Orlando next month for our first look at Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, attendees of CinemaCon got their first look tonight during Disney's presentation.  Disney screened a special sizzle reel promoting their upcoming films for the members of the film industry and members of the press in attendance.  While there was certainly not as much footage from The Last Jedi screened at CinemaCon as there was at the Disney shareholders meeting a few weeks ago, there were at least two shots of interest.  iO9's Germain Lussier was in attendance at the event and tweeted what he saw,

Jack Reynor Is Relieved To Not Be Playing Han Solo

Prior to the casting of Alden Ehrenreich in the upcoming young Han Solo film, the short list for the role was leaked to the press.  In addition to Ehrenreich, the list included Kingsmen: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton and Transformers: Age of Extinction star Jack Reynor.  Now, months after losing out on the part, Reynor revealed to the Irish Times that he's relieved that he didn't get the part.

Gary Barlow Confirms He Will Appear In 'The Last Jedi'

The 46-year-old made this known on ITV's Lorraine earlier today, but kept quiet about who or what character he would play in the upcoming film.

One thing that the singer made clear was that he wouldn't be playing a stormtrooper.

The set of Star Wars: A New Hope was hit with the first winter rainstorm in 50 years during filming in Tunisia.

Poor weather conditions had hampered the first day of shooting on March 22. The scene with Luke watching as the twin suns set was scrapped and later be filmed on March 29.

Rumor: Ian Kenny Cast in Young Han Solo Film

The young Han Solo film looks to have added a new cast member.  Variety is reporting that Sing Street star Ian Kenny has been cast in the yet untitled Han Solo A Star Wars Story film.  There are no details about the role he would play.  If true (and it comes from Variety, who are very rarely wrong when it comes to this sort of thing), Kenny would join a cast that already includes Alden Ehrenreich as Han, Donald Glover as Lando, and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke in an unknown role.

John Knoll Says He Has An Idea For Another 'Star Wars' Stand Alone Film

Gareth Edwards Discusses the Final Darth Vader Scene in 'Rogue One'

One of the most iconic moments of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is when Darth Vader faces off against a group of Rebel soldiers in a darkened hallway.  Director Gareth Edwards recently sat down with Wired to discuss the making of that final scene.  He reveals that the scene was a late addition, being shot only four months before the film's release.  He also spoke about the difficulty in recreating the Death Star plans prop that Leia places in R2 in A New Hope, as well as what it was like filming his own cameo in that scene.  You can check out the video below,

'Rogue One' Director and Writer Discuss the TIE Fighter Trailer Shot, Deleted Cameos

When the first trailers for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story began to hit the film was still evolving and going through significant changes.  This resulted in several shots appearing in the trailers but not the final film. Disney CEO Says Leia's Role in 'The Last Jedi' Won't Be Changed

While the world still mourns the passing of Princess Leia actress Carrie Fisher, the creative team behind the Star Wars films has the difficult task of moving forward without her given that Leia was meant to have roles in the next two instalments in the Skywalker saga.  Fortunately, Fisher finished filming her scenes for Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi prior to her death so fans will get to her in her most iconic role one more time.  However, the question has been raised of whether or not the filmmakers would adjust the ending to The Last Jedi because of Fisher's death.

Sir Alec Guinness arrived in Tunisia to begin shooting his scenes as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: A New Hope.

The scenes shot in Tunisia include the famous first meeting between Ben Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, following the Tusken Raider attack.

Little did the legendary actor know that his character, Obi-Wan, would become as iconic as the film itself.

Del Rey Announces Star Wars Celebration Schedule & Exclusives

Unbound Worlds have reported that there will be author signings (of all of which are free and the schedule of which is subject to change) purchasing books and meeting members of the Del Rey team.

Bob Iger Says the Han Solo Film Will Cover Six Years

It's been a big day for Disney CEO Bob Iger.  Not only has his contract been extended to July 2019, he also gave a talk at the University of Southern California, where he dropped some interesting Star Wars tidbits.  During the talk at USC, Iger revealed that the young Han Solo film currently in production will cover Han's life from ages 18-24 (approximately six years).  He also spoke briefly about Star Wars: The Last Jedi, promising Luke Skywalker fans that the Jedi Master will have lots to say this December.

Riz Ahmed Reveals How Bodhi Rook Evolved Through The Various Versions of 'Rogue One'

Over the past week, the creatives involved in the making of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story have been revealing how the story of the film changed through various editions of the script.  We've heard about alternate endings, alternate beginnings, and even an alternate death for Director Krennic.  Now, Riz Ahmed has revealed that Bodhi Rook was, at one point, a completely different character.  In an interview with EW's Anthony Breznican, Ahmed revealed that Bodhi wasn't always the well-intentioned, if nervous, Imperial pilot turned Rebel.  In fact, he wasn't even named Bodhi.

Woody Harrelson Reveals His Star Wars Character is Named Beckett

Woody Harrelson has finally revealed his character name in the upcoming Young Han Solo film.  Harrelson appeared on The Tonight Show where he revealed to host Jimmy Fallon that he is playing a character named "Beckett".  He also described his character as "kind of a criminal and a mentor".  When pressed for more information, he threw his arms in the air and said he could say no more.  Check out the video below,

John Knoll Describes More 'Rogue One' Alternate Endings

Earlier this week details emerged about an early version of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in which Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor would have survived the film.  While it was ultimately changed so that all the film's main characters were killed off, John Knoll, the man who came up with original story for Rogue One, recently revealed details about two other alternate endings he came up with for the film.  In advance of the film's upcoming home media release (on digital HD this Friday and Blu-ray/DVD on April 4th), Knoll sat down with iO9 where he described the alternate endings.

Details About Alternate 'Rogue One' Prologue Emerge

One of the things that sets Rogue One: A Star Wars Story apart from the rest of the Star Wars films is that the first scene takes place fifteen years before the rest of the film.  In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rogue One director Gareth Edwards and the film's first writer Gary Whitta revealed that, while the plan was always to open with a prologue, the specifics of the scene were very different in the first draft.  The main difference, Krennic wasn't there for Galen.  He was after Lyra, who was secretly a Jedi knight.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Talks About Filming the Han Solo Movie

One of the many new faces we'll see joining the Star Wars galaxy in next year's young Han Solo film is Phoebe Waller-Bridge.  The British actress is currently best known for the Amazon series Fleabag, which she wrote and starred in.  Little is known about her role in Star Wars, other that it is reportedly to be a motion capture role along the lines of Maz Kanata and Supreme Leader Snoke in The Force Awakens.  While she can't say much about the film, Waller-Bridge did speak briefly about the experience shooting the Han Solo film RTS 2017 Awards (where Fleabag picked up two awards).

Laura Dern Won't Tell Her Kids Who She's Playing in 'The Last Jedi'

Everyone knows that the level of secrecy surrounding a Star Wars movie is insane and the cast is not allowed to tell anyone what's going to happen in the film.  You might think an exception could be made for immediate family members, but this is not the case for Laura Dern who will be joining the Star Wars galaxy later this year in Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.  In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies, Dern confesses that she won't even tell her children (aged 15 and 12) anything about the film.

Woody Harrelson Praises Han Solo Film Directors

The cast of the young Han Solo film currently in production has an impressive cast, with its many of its stars coming from some of the most acclaimed projects of recent memory.  Among that cast is Woody Harrelson (True Detective, The Hunger Games), who--in addition to shooting the Han Solo film--is currently promoting his upcoming film Wilson (which opens this Friday).  Harrelson sat down with Collider recently to talk about Wilson, and, of course, the topic of Star Wars came up.  Harrelson couldn't say much about the film's plot of his character (which is apparently a mentor figure in Han's life), however he did have some high praise for the film's directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Principal photography for Star Wars: A New Hope commenced in Tozeur, Tunisia, on this day in 1976.

A crew of 130 ventured into the desert in 42 trucks and cars, including eight army trucks full of equipment.

For the first day the plan was to shoot parts from the scene where droids Artoo and Threepio are being purchased, as well as parts for Luke watching the twin suns scene and the scene where Threepio and Luke rush out of the homestead to look for the escaped Artoo.

Entertainment Weekly has released a new preview for the special features on the upcoming home media release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.  The preview focuses in on the return of Darth Vader to the silver screen, featuring interviews with director Gareth Edwards, cinematographer Greg Frasier, and Director Orson Krennic actor Ben Mendelsohn.  They discuss what it meant to bring Vader back and his climactic final scene.  Check it out below,
