Rumors are fun, but some are more fun than others. This one, I must say, is the most exciting (in my opinion) bunch or rumors since #Cumberwatch began. Jedi News' source, Jedi Master SLQ, has come through with not only casting rumors, but a potential teaser trailer release date, and possibly the films actual release date.
Jedi News is reporting that the first major casting announcement will come on October 23rd (no word on who that will be, however). Harrison Ford has requested that the casting announcement not be made until after he is done promoting Ender's Game, so that he won't be faced with Star Wars questions everywhere he goes. A "Non live action teaser trailer" will appear on April 4, 2014 - which just so happens to also be the day that Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released. And included in that trailer will be Episode VII's official release date of November 11, 2015.
Wow! There's a lot to be excited about there. The October 23rd date is fast approaching, so if you're sick of rumors, you may finally get a relief. And the Harrison Ford thing makes sense too. While he certainly won't avoid any Star Wars questions, he won't be faced with the situation JJ Abrams was faced with when he was promoting Star Trek Into Darkness and all anyone wanted to talk about was Star Wars. But the part that really gets me excited is the teaser trailer. While Jedi Master SLQ says there won't be any footage, a lot can change between now and then. I just can't wait to go to the theater and see the words Star Wars Episode VII up on the screen, whether there's footage or not.
As always this is just a rumor until confirmed (or denied) by Lucasfilm or Disney.
